Welcome! First off, I want to give credit and thanks to
the wonderful Dr. Elaine Aron who first introduced all of us to this
important inherited trait of high sensitivity and who wrote the landmark
1996 book The Highly Sensitive Person:
How to Thrive When the World Overwhelms You. And, make sure you
visit her website www.hsperson.com.
I encourage you to check out the other pages here on the Highly Sensitive Person website for more information on how the Trait of High Sensitivity can impact you in the areas of your Relationships, your Career, and your Spirituality.
What Was Your Self-Talk Like Today?
So many of us constantly focus on our blunders. And as a result, we wind up feeling even worse about them, and ourselves. Ouch! What if you could start congratulating yourself for your successes? And give yourself a great big High-Five every day? By changing your Self-Talk you can actually begin to feel better about yourself, and your life. Science has shown that there are simple steps you can take to reprogram your brain, in a way that will allow you to enjoy greater happiness, wealth, confidence, love, success, health — and more. And all it takes is just changing what you say to yourself every day. Self-help expert Bradley Thompson, one of the sponsors of the Highly Sensitive People website, has created an amazing system on audio CDs that leads you through the precise steps you need to follow to change your own Self-Talk. I highly encourage you to visit the Self-Help Talk website to learn more about how simple it is to become a stronger, happier and more confident person.

These are sure to be interesting evenings learning about and discussing
the trait of high sensitivity. If you're an HSP, they'll be evenings of
learning to understand yourself better, and if you're a Non-HSP you'll
learn how to better understand those Highly Sensitive People in your life.
Because HSPs make up about 20% of the population, you are sure to
come into contact with many of them, so why not make the most of those
relationships; social, business and romantic?

Highly Sensitive People Need a Higher Vibration I've only recently learned that Albert Einstein (who was a highly sensitive person himself) was the first scientist who began to explore the quality of "vibration" in the universe. He determined that all matter is just another expression of fundamental energy, and everything in the universe — the sun, the earth, our bodies, our lives, the words we speak and the thoughts we have — is nothing more than a vibration of energy. The rate each of these energies vibrates is called its frequency, and scientists are discovering that it's possible to experience entirely different states of consciousness, as well as stimulating powerful energy centers in the brain and functions such as creativity and mood enhancement, just by subtly "tuning" their frequencies. And the more highly tuned nervous system of an HSP benefits the most utilizing them.
The groundbreaking movie "The Secret" was one of the first popular discussions of vibrations and the Law of Attraction, and new methodologies and products are coming onto the market with increasing "frequency" these days. But there's nothing new about it....
What is new is that today access to these life-changing frequencies has become extremely easy. I've just been introduced to a new method of tuning your internal vibrations by the founders of MindPowerMP3.com who have just released a series of powerful audio tracks designed to help people, especially HSPs, gain greater control over their vibrational state. And they've made available, absolutely free, a brand-new Sound Transformation Starter Kit for download from their site.
Today's digital technologies makes precise tuning of these frequencies extremely economical, and they can be added to specially recorded MP3 tracks, which mix these fundamental frequencies with beautifully recorded classical music. Spplying these frequencies in your life, just by listening to these special tracks (preferably with headphones to focus the energies) will:
So since this is a limited time introductory offer, I'm happy to make it available here on the Highly Sensitive People website. Accessing this gift is easy — just visit the site below to discover more and to download your 5 free MP3s and also get 2 free reports explaining much more about this amazing new (yet old) technology.
In this Free Sound Transformation Starter Kit you get the full 396 Hz Liberation From Fear track, which will helps dissolve obstacles to peace, restore strength and equanimity, and prepare the way for your emotional liberation. I'm proud that the people at MindPowerMP3 have allowed me to become an affiliate for their groundbreaking new product and FTC regulations require I mention this whenever I present any information about exciting new third-party products for the benefit of my readers.
I'm Edward helping Jim with the HSP website for over seven years now, and working with him has been a rewarding experience. Since Jim's so busy with his coaching practice these days he's asked me to help keep a running log of some of the interesting and informative HSP blogs that we run across. And we're always open to any ideas or comments you may want to make, as well. First, though, a few thoughts about what makes a man great. A few weeks ago the world lost one of the true innovators of our age, Steve Jobs. I mention it here because Jobs was from all evidence a highly sensitive person. Some people are successful through skill, others by luck, but Jobs was a man who really built his own success through keen understanding of both people and technology. A rare individual who could manipulate both art and science, able both to create quality product and also convince people it was a must-have. In the process he changed the way we consume content, and leaves a business legacy unmatched in our lifetimes. Most of us are able to master one or two skills, but Jobs excelled at a whole panoply: design, innovation, technology, along with salesmanship, marketing, personal passion and mission. He's been compared to both P.T. Barnam and Walt Disney for an ability to anticipate what people want, and then deliver it successfully. And that's the mark of a highly sensitive person: in touch with both his head, and his heart. Jim's mentor, Dr. Pat Allen, has a great appreciation for Jobs' abilities for that very reason: his ability to mix both his left and right brain, to mingle creativity and emotions with his logic and marketing sense. Hearing an address Jobs delivered at Stanford, Pat was impressed less with his technical abilities than his passion. She told me, "He talked about calligraphy, and he talked about words. And it was like he was speaking to me. And you know what he said? Go forward. No, look backward to go forward. Look from your lessons." Another thing all three of us can relate to is that Steve Jobs was a man never afraid to take a risk on what he believed in. He was a true entrepreneur, taking full responsibility for his successes upon himself. For that reason, like many HSPs, he could also be extremely obstinate at times, and even ruled by his obsessions. He was determined not to let anyone use his products in ways that could reflect negatively on Apple, even though he knew that people would accuse him of restricting free expression. And he didn't suffer fools very well. According to one of his critics, Ryan Tate, Jobs "regularly belittled people, swore at them, and pressured them until they reached their breaking point. In the pursuit of greatness he cast aside politeness and empathy." Like Jim often says, "highly sensitive" doesn't always equate with "nice." Many books have been written about Jobs and his career, and many more will probably be written in the future. But I want to mention two here. The first is iCon Steve Jobs: The Greatest Second Act in the History of Business, by Jeffrey S. Young, an unflinching portrayal of an MVP and techno icon with all-too-human frailties, a fully self-actualized genius but also a narcissist who sought to leave his personal imprint on everything as he led Apple to the position of biggest company in the world. This is the book that so incensed Jobs-the-HSP that he cut the publisher out of his life — and from all his Apple stores. The second is a brand-new authorized biography that has just reached the top of the best-seller lists, Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson, written after extensive interviews with a sensitive man who rarely allowed glimpses into his private life. Isaacson has penned telling biographies of two other HSPs, Albert Einstein and Benjamin Franklin, so I look forward to this being an equally inciteful and perhaps cautionary view into a man whose passion for perfection and ferocious drive revolutionized six industries...and the world. Here are some recent blog postings that you may find of interest: Women Awakened This anonymous blog details the experiences of an attractive young woman, with a keen emphasis on how being an HSP interacts with the sexual aspects of her relationships. The energies of sexual interactions can be extremely potent, and sometimes downright traumatic for the sensitive person. She offers the important advice that sometimes you have to take a risk on life, even when you feel uncomfortable. Elaine Aron's Newest Book Jacquelyn has written a very personal review of Dr. Aron's new book, Psychotherapy and the Highly Sensitive Person, which I also recommend to all HSPs who want to gain a fuller understanding of their personalities Prescriptions for Life Blog "Top 10 Survival Tips for the Highly Sensitive Person (HSP)" — in her blog, Dr. Susan Biali offers these highly effective tips from a medical perspective to surviving as a highly sensitive person
A Special Note: Dr. Pat Allen wants you to have one of the books she has based her therapies on, at no charge. The publisher has made arrangements to give away a FREE COPY of Napoleon Hill's famous book, Think & Grow Rich — that's the famed book about the power of Positive Thinking that much of the Law of Attraction is based on. There are millionaires today who credit much of their success to the "secrets" they read in this book, including some of the authorities who appeared in the movie "The Secret" itself.
